Author Spotlight on Peter Mark May

Full Name: Peter Mark May
City: Hersham
State: Surrey
Country: England, UK

Tell us what makes you proud to be a writer from your City, State or Country?:  Interesting question. I'm proud to be English, but where I come from doesn't really matter, just want to appeal to all types of readers worldwide.

What or who inspired you to become a writer?:  Strangely the bad horror writers of the late seventies and early eighties, I though if they can publish this rubbish, then can publish my stuff too.

Tell us why you write the genre(s) that you write?:  Apart from Lord of the Rings, it's the genre that I normally prefer to read myself.

What special projects are you working on now and what books do we have to look forward to in the future?:  My next novel is Kumiho, set during the Korean war. An old soldier is dying of cancer and has one last war story to tell his only grandson, a story that he has never told anyone before. That's being typed up at the moment. Followed by a collection of short stories and then my 3rd novel, which I'm writing at the moment.

Author Spotlight on Thomas Palfy

Full Name: Thomas Palfy
City: Vermont (suburb of Melbourne)
State: Victoria
Country: Australia

Tell us what makes you proud to be a writer from your City, State or Country?:  I like to think of myself as an "outdoor type" even though I spend quite some time in front of the computer or reading books. I enjoy touring the National Parks of Australia, taking photographs and sharing my experiences with the readers. It is not pride that drives me but love of nature and the urge to communicate.

What or who inspired you to become a writer?: Tours with Susan, my wife, were followed with documentation: photos and travel diaries. These diaries were sent to friends as letters. Eventually there was enough material for a book: that is how my first book, "Australian Adventures" was created. This was followed by the photo collection "Images of Australia". I haven't stopped writing since. When searching for material for my photo collection "Captured with the Camera", I came across a copy of an old email. It was written to me by the writer, Stephen Vizinczey. He suggested in it that I should become a travel writer. Since that email was buried under other documents and forgotten for years, I can only say that the inspiration must have been a subconscious one!

Tell us why you write the genre(s) that you write?:  By presenting photographs of the Australian countryside and describing the tours, I hope to inspire people to visit the places Susan and I have visited and to get to know and enjoy the scenery, the fauna and the flora.

What special projects are you working on now and what books do we have to look forward to in the future?:  : In 2006 my book about Western Australia was published (The West of the West).  This was followed in 2007 with the "Hub of Australia and Beyond", illustrations and descriptions of tours to South Australia and the Northern Territory. It is 2008 now and I am working on a book about the Eastern states of Australia,  again with many illustrations. This project should be completed well before the end of the year, so then I can start working on the book about Australia from East to West.

Current Books:  The West of the West; The Hub of Australia and Beyond; Captured with the Camera; Australian Adventures; Images of Australia and the autobiographical Challenge and Adversity.

Author Spotlight on Theodocia McLean

Full Name: Theodocia McLean
City: Raleigh
State: North Carolina
Country: USA

Tell us what makes you proud to be a writer from North Carolina? Although I was born in Downeast Maine and lived in many states while growing, I am proud to be a writer from North Carolina. As a city goes, Raleigh is one of the cleanest cities that I have ever been in. When I want to escape the city I can either head for the beautiful sandy beaches or lose myself in the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Personally I prefer the mountains. They inspire me as a writer and there is nothing more serene as a mountain hiking trial or golf course. I can to the mountains in the summer to hike and escape into nature in order to free my mind to write or I can visit the mountains in the winter when I am homesick for New England with its winter wonder land. I have no desire to write from any other place than North Carolina, as over thirty three years, it has become a part of me.

What or who inspired you to become a writer? A diligent teacher in the fifth grade introduced me to writing, not just to get through English assignment, but to take flight into another world and escape the hell of the private school that I was living at. I dedicate my love of writing to her and you can read about her and all my experiences in my book, ‘The Stormy Side of Theodocia’.

Tell us why you write the genre(s) that you write? I wrote the first part of my autobiography in my book called, ‘The Stormy Side of Theodocia’. I needed to tell my story, because in my youth no one would listen. This was good therapy for me and I wrote in a way as to just tell my story and let you my reader react with what ever emotions my story stirs. I tried not to relay anger, blame or other emotions. I am set free just by the fact that I have now told my story. I wrote my book, ‘Theodocia’s Heart Songs  to share my emotions that have surfaced in the form of poetry through the years. I wrote my book, ‘Time Traveler’s Postscripts-Journal of a Time Traveler  in order to share my love of biblical stories and take you my reader back in time to live these stories while in the year 3010 while traveling back in time in a ‘Diamond Pod’. I wrote my book, ‘The Nephilim Phenomenon  because I am convinced that what happened in Noah’s Day with the Nephilim is happening today, but in a more sinister way as fallen angels continue to populate this earth with their half breed offspring. I wrote, Birth of a Manuscript, Footprints In My Life Journey (30-day workbook) and Household Property Inventory Workbook as a way to help others. I co-wrote the book, ‘Murder, Secrets and Injustice in a Small Town  as a project to do with my wonderful niece Anastasia Cassella-Young. We were separated most of our lives and have only come to know and appreciate each other in adulthood. Together we share the love of writing and plan to write more books together

What special projects are you working on now and what books do we have to look forward to in the future? I am a multi-faceted writer and I am not locked in to one genre. I am working on the second book in my ‘Time Traveler’s  series set in the year 3010. I am also working on the second book of the ‘Nephilim Phenomenon  which will probably turn into a trilogy. The sequel to ‘The ‘Stormy Side of Theodocia  is in works, but won’t be out for a while. I am focusing on my website http://www.thebookattic.us
and http://www.booksinsync.com and http://www.agpress.net with the hopes of helping other new authors and multi-book authors with marketing. I am also working on a couple of new books that I will not name at this time.

Footprints In My Life Journey - A 30-Day Workbook To Help Someone With Bi-Polar Illness.
